Challenge

Challenge

Cambodia is highly vulnerable to climate change, with children facing risks from floods, heat and food insecurity. Yet climate change often felt distant to families and was reduced to narrow ideas about waste. UNICEF Cambodia needed to make climate action personal and hopeful by connecting environmental care to children’s rights and everyday choices at home.

Approach

Approach

Grounded in behavioral insights and the belief that small actions create big change, One Earth, One Home reframed climate action through family and a familiar Khmer proverb. The nationwide campaign combined animated films, tutorials, influencer content, digital billboards, print materials and an educational coloring book to turn climate-friendly habits into practical acts of love and protection.

Bringing Climate Action Home

The campaign identity linked planetary responsibility with family life, supporting the message that climate action begins with choices made at home.

Continuing the Conversation Through Play

The activity book gave children a way to explore climate risks and solutions with caregivers and teachers beyond the original campaign content.

Outcome

Outcome

The campaign translated an abstract issue into clear actions families could practice together. Its learning materials also reached children in border refugee communities, while the blend of real imagery and illustration created an optimistic visual language that connected imagination, family care and climate resilience.
